Customs and package opening are connected because customs officials are responsible for inspecting and clearing packages that are being imported into a country. When a package arrives from another country, customs officials may open it to inspect its contents and ensure that it complies with import regulations and does not contain any prohibited items. This process helps to prevent the illegal importation of goods and ensures the safety and security of the country. Therefore, customs and package opening are closely linked in the process of international trade and border security. **

Customs duty is typically paid at the point of entry into a country, such as at a port or airport. The importer or their customs broker is responsible for declaring the goods and paying the duty to the customs authorities. Customs duty rates are determined based on the classification of the goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) code, which is an internationally standardized system for classifying traded products. Customs authorities use the HS code provided by the importer to determine the applicable duty rate for the specific goods being imported. **
